able to offer high resolution camera capture of 1 to 1 and up to 1 meter (Approx. on the longest side)
and high resolution scanning and enlarging of pieces up to A3.
With experience as a digitization technician for a well known local company specializing in the

as well as numerous other important documentation I am now offering capture all 2D Imagery.
Digitization Information And Fees
Scanning
Scanning is recommended for sizes up to A3. Default scans are at 300DPI. However you may
choose scanning options of 600, 1200, 2400 and 4800DPI for larger reproductions.
DPI
● A higher DPI retains more detail, including colour and highlight shadow fall off in greyscale
works such as pencil drawings for example, the trade off here is a very slow scanning
process and very large digital file and a higher fee. 600Dpi is recommended
Choose to have your scans come in compressed JPG or uncompressed TIFF formats.
● JPG Files are suitable for most uses and is the default option. JPG is the most widely used
image format for web use as well as high quality print reproduction and is an easy format to
work with and store due to its small file size.
● 16bit TIFF files are recommended for archival purposes and for those wanting to edit their
scans later. 8bit JPG file come included with TIFF at no extra charge

Camera Capture (CC + PPE)
For capture of art and documents greater than A3.
Information
Camera capture involves the use of a digital camera that features a very high resolution sensor
which is combined with tack-sharp lenses to capture art and other imagery. I am able to capture
sizes of approx. 1 meter on the longest side.
The camera capture process is more involved compared to scanning due to the setting up of the
camera, the capture subject, lens choice and lighting. Art Works that have glossy textured surfaces
may also require the use of polarization to cut glare caused by specular highlights. Once setup, and
provided the art works or documents remain similar in size, the capture process is then much faster
compared to scanning.
PPE (or Post Production Editing) is included in the fee
PPE includes
● Cropping (outside*)
● Distortion correction
● White point and black point correction
● Sharpening if required
● Skew correction (on request*)
*Some art, canvasses in particular; maybe slightly skewed or wrapped meaning a straight crop
line could cut into the image, cropping outside will leave space around the works.
Request skew correction if you want warping removed. Odd shaped works are cropped to their
outer edges
Camera Captured files are extremely high quality at 300DPI 16bit uncompressed RAW at capture,
converted to 16bit TIFF and 8bit JPG during PPE.
